Project Catalyst is...Project Catalyst is not...
  • An initiative of Climate Works, a global non-profit, and non-governmental orginisation.
  • A neutral advisor to all parties involved in climate negotiations.
  • Providing global analytic and policy support ahead of UNFCCC, and country-level analysis, as requested
  • Detailing different options that can be followed in a post-Kyoto climate change agreement.
  • Supported by working groups consisting of 150 climate negotiators, government officials, business executives, etc. from 30 countries.
  • In some instances contracting external consulting and advisory firms to conduct analysis.
  • Affiliated with any country, country grouping, company, political party or view, government, etc.
  • Suggesting one simple solution for climate related problems, nor proposing which actions a country should take, but might be putting together a draft (or strawman) proposal to further the discussion.
  • Trying to promote a specific policy or outcome to the climate negotiations - beyond one that limits global warming to no more than 2 degrees Celsius.
  • An initiative of any of the external consulting or advisory firms conducting analysis for Project Catalyst.
